Happy New Year from the Carnival of Fraud

Posted on January 1st, 2007

Happy 2007 to all readers and particpants in the Carnival of Fraud.

  • Getting Green explains why gold is a bad investment. In spite of the things said by those selling gold, it appears that such an investment has had much lower returns than the stock market.
  • Getting Green also does a nice post on the Quixtar Amway scam. One of his friends recently got involved with this fake business opportunity, and no doubt he will be like 99% of people who get involved – NO PROFITS.
  • What great timing for Getting Green to mention multi-level marketing, as I did a post yesterday on Mary Kay Cosmetics.
  • Sox First mentions a few sites that are listing some of the top scams of 2006.
  • WenchyPoo does a review of a book with a plan to replace our current welfare system. The idea is quite interesting. I’d love to see exactly how the math works out.

Have a prosperous 2007, and keep your eyes open for scams and swinldes in the new year.
