More allegations against Michael McGee (Jackson)

Posted on June 14th, 2007

Junior McGee is not only accused of shaking down business owners in his district. A federal search warrant released today also alleges that Michael McGee Jackson used his “Rapid Response Team” to solicit bribes from business owners.

The Rapid Response Team was supposed to be McGee’s “anti-crime” team, but McGee allegedly used the team as a front to extort more money from business owners, telling them that the team would help improve things in the area. If business owners didn’t give money, McGee allegedly would delay their licensing matters.

The search warrant says one business owner was made to pay $20,000 to McGee.
