Another fraud busted by Barry Minkow
The National Business Review in New Zealand ran a story yesterday about one of the many frauds Barry Minkow has successfully investigated.
Derek Turner has the honor of being New Zealand’s biggest con man. Turner showed up in a New York court in February 2006, and tearfully told a judge how he’d “restore” all his victims in the U.S. and New Zealand. FBI agent Matt Galioto commented how quickly the tears went away after the verdict was announced, as if the tears were another con.
Turner was sentenced to 20 years in prison. And it is all thanks to the hard work done by Barry Minkow.
