Does anyone know where I can get rid of all this Quixtar tool crap? I probably have well over a thousand dollars of this crap sitting in my closet since I quit. And nearly 2 yrs later, I am still paying off the debt on my credit cards for all the products, functions and stuff.

Deception and underhandedness disguised with fancy logos, sold with half-truths, propaganda and outright lies.
What a surprise.
Simple honor and integrity are dying. Anything corruptable by humans will be - the infection pervades our political, commercial, religious and even educational institutions.
Find a way to stick it to as many people as legally possible, promote a better snake oil and disguise your cult as a "legitimate business" and you're in high cotton.
Thinking about it all - I need a shower.

Over the past 3 years I have been presented with the Quixtar opportunity one guy got me all the way to a seminar, another just a meetting at a einstein bagel, more recently a old high school friend who popped out of the blue, who I caught in the middle of his pitch on the first call, and just yesterday with a guy I work with. He didn't even get the chance to pitch I called him out before even offered (which caught him off guard). This most recent time though I honestly feel bad for the guy. The person who wrote this is 100% correct from top to bottom. I have ridden with him in my company car the last two days and have gotten pretty good info from him. He only consumes products from his website. Nutralite bars (which are terrible and a crappy energy drink) He has given up everything he used to do to sit at home and "build his buisness" recruit people online and read motivational books bought from the "tool king pins" I won't talk bad of what he is doing and have promised not to tell my other co-workers but its obvious that he is basically brainwashed. I'm noticing that with our down economy they are becoming more frequent and people need to be careful. IF IT SEEMS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE, IT IS!

The reason so many were posted late is because AOL ran the article as a link to ten companies making a comeback.. its sad that so many people went nuts over what this author had to say. Tell me, what educated person when writing a research paper, uses so many one sided views and adjectives. Maybe because they have a predisposed outlook. Which is fine, people will believe what they want, Like so many watching Fox News networks. Even if you had a bad experience with an MLM, sit down and get the true facts from someone who doesn't resort to name calling. If you've taken a college course on critical thinking you will know that what could be a legitimate opinion is unfortunately mixed in with ad hominem argument, where the people are attacked rather than the issue. This clear bias takes away the effectiveness of the argument.

I used to be in Amway. What I hate the most about Amway Brunei (google it!) is that we are a regional subsidiary of Amway Malaysia.

While Tex said that "kingpin" sold tools to get rich, here in Brunei i suspect Malaysian Amway distributors sold third-party products that have nothing to do with Amway USA, on top of what Tex calls tools, to get rich.

Over here, IBOs are told to sell water-filters, cooking wares, so on and so forth on top of other Amway products. Though this is not illegal and pretty-much a straight-forward busineess deal, what irks me the most is that these Malaysian distributors are taking advantage of IBOs to buy and push their over-priced products just to get PVs and ofcourse, being unable to consistently do that month after month, resort to recruiting as a faster route to "achieving" their Amway dream.

I have brought up the costly Amway product question so many times without ever getting a satisfactory answer. My problem pushing Amway products to the general public is.. why would something that is supposedly being distributed directly from manufacturer to IBO/consumer cost up to three times a comparable everyday item when it cuts out wholeseller, retailers and so on. Sure it may be good (remember some health supplements are now under scrutiny as some are over the daily recommended allowance) but why over-priced. why can't they compete like other products and gain through selling by volume i.e more demand more income.

As I have renounced Amway, a friend recently pushed to get me to rejoin which forced me to searched the web to get information on Amway that i could use to un-brainwash her. So thank you for articles like this.

Kind of weird how all the Pro Amway remarks are posted within a few hours of each other months after the discussion had ended.

Incidentally, 1%er and 2%er are how outlaw motorcycle gangs refer to their lifestyle. I think that's a droll coincidence.

And being negative, about the right things, can take you far indeed, whether you're a stand up comic or a short seller, or whatever.

What is wrong with this guy TEX. Sounds like he was hoping for a get rich quick scheme. Tex isn't the first one to come along and make those claims and I'm sure he won't be the last.
I am a distributor and like Greg says, you work you make money, you don't work and you don't make any. I use the products and like them. I also have read many of the books and listened to the CD's. The business allows you to use utilize the materials to build your business as well as make you a better person. We are all looking for the same independance from a J O B. You have to work at this to establish your level of income. Important thing is, you follow what your mentors advise you with and it will provide you with a good income for as long as you want. Getting out there isn't easy when your trying to raise a family and juggle work and after school activities and such. It's like you have a business that's in a plaze or mall. If you don't show up to open the door every morning, no one comes in to spend any money. Same thing here. I have friends that are doing very well , some better than others. But once again, it goes back to the time a person puts into it. The money's there, you just have to go after it. To be free and have that Freedom takes hard work and time.

have a ?, why do students buy books and attend classes when they go to college? also, they are told they have to do those things {mandatory}. now with all that $ being spent doesn't mean they'll get any finacial return, just an education, but need the knowledge to pursue what ever career they're going after. i think it's pretty awesome that a company offers education, thru books, cd's, functions and mentorship to help people succeed at whatever level they want to succeed at {their choice}.remember, AMWAY/GLOBAL bus. is meant to be built outside your job to give people extra income stream, & give u choices, without costing arm & leg. people don't have a problem with spending $ on college, why should this be any different. FREEDOM isn't free!
