Companies only have a certain percentage of their budgets that they can spend on human capital.  If they have additional cost of required sick days, they are going to make up for it elsewhere - perhaps salaries, perhaps medical benefits, perhaps with layoffs, perhaps something else.  The one thing that is certain is that employers will make up the difference somehow. It is just a layer of beaurocratic crap that does move us closer to socialism.    Not only this, but I am willing to bet there will be new government positions whose job is to make sure these new laws are enforced. This will mean higher taxes to pay for those positions.  I do not know when these liberals will get it through their thick skulls that big government is not better government.</description>
