I'm against a bailout for the Big 3 automakers, but found it funny that Hank Paulson said the original $700 billion bailout wasn't "designed for them." It wasn't designed for banks to use the money to buy other banks either, BUT THAT'S WHAT PAULSON HAS ALLOWED TO HAPPEN. I guess the bailout bill was really designed for "whatever Paulson wants at the moment."

My rant about the real cost of the bailout here: http://www.walletpop.com/blog/2008/11/11/700-billion-and-counting-what-the-bailout-is-really-costing/

Actually who knows what exactly the bail out money was for??? I never did understand what was written in the bill that was passed and I know you had trouble with it too Tracy. There is no telling where this money will be spent but god knows it will not help the problems out there that really need it.

The funniest part is that now that Congress is trying to use part of the $700billion for car companies, Paulson has the nerve to say that the money was not intended for that. Hello! The money was approved to buy troubled assets to take them off bank's books, not to invest in them. Oh right, you won't appologize for changing the purpose of those funds after the "facts and circumstances changed". This entire bail out business smells.
