Yes. It’s true. The Cheater Patriots are now in the NFL record books for “going” 16-0 in the regular season. Of course, I put “going” in quotes, because we all know that their record really should not be even be considered a record. They were caught cheating early in the season, and should at least have that win taken away from them.
Instead, the NFL basically gave the Cheater Patriots a big “oh well” on the whole deal. Sure, they got a fine and lost a draft pick, but they should have had to give up the win against the Jets. I’m not sure why they got away with this. Lord knows that if it was the Green Bay Packers caught videotaping things in direct violation of the rules, we wouldn’t have heard the end of it all season. Nope. And there would have been much bigger sanctions.
The Patriots may be an excellent team, but the world will never know if they could have gotten this record without cheating. Because they did it. They cheated. And this “record” is forever tainted.
I totally agree with everything you say. If I am not mistaken, not even a mention of it the rest of the season as everyone was going nuts about their record.
God forbid it was ANY other team, we would have heard it every time we were up to play, but not a peep for the sainted patriots.
As far as I am concerned, the record is tainted and should not count, period. They cheated and they got caught.
they have been doing this for over 3 to 4 years so who knows how many wins are tainted! and it’s just so sickning that the nfl just went o well take a draft pick and fine them no big deal and know they are on there way to win it all, i guess that old saying does hold water anymore “Cheaters never win”.
they shouldn’t take away a win on the field. however they should have taken away the patriots higher 1st round pick (aquired via a trade) rather than their regular 1st round pick. NE still ends up with the 4th or 5th pick this year. that’s a crock.
they should not even be in the super bowl this year…nor should they be in the record books for any of it! they cheated period end of story they win….wooo yay!….but they still cheated….and for that i say they should not be able to have there starting lineup for the superbowl or something besides a loss of a draft pick or a fine….that fine was nothing to them!
