This is considered a bonus for employees, which Thornton said is to thank them for their hard work.<\/p>\n<p>I have ranted at length in the past about MPS, its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/2009\/01\/latest-numbers-mps-still-sucks\/\">failure to educate students<\/a>, its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/03\/i-never-ever-want-to-hear-that-teachers-are-underpaid-again\/\">highly compensated teachers<\/a>, and wide scale <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/08\/more-wasting-of-taxpayer-money-by-mps-surprise\/\">waste of resources<\/a>. Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/2012\/06\/what-milwaukee-public-schools-really-spends-per-child\/\">sky-high spending per child<\/a> in MPS, the district still fails to educate the children. In 2013, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.jsonline.com\/news\/education\/mps-shows-slight-gain-in-reading-math-scores-on-national-exam-b99166802z1-236426211.html\">less than half<\/a> of 4th graders and 8th graders tested proficient in math and less than half were proficient in reading. Waaaay less than half.\u00a0 (And lest you buy the phony argument that the poor results are simply because these are urban kids, know that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/06\/proof-that-mps-sucks\/\">other urban school districts do quite well at educating children<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>So yes, the fact that the majority of students in MPS cannot read or do math certainly means that the administration and staff should get bonuses funded by taxpayers!
