{"id":1598,"date":"2008-06-21T17:48:23","date_gmt":"2008-06-21T23:48:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sequence-inc.com\/fraudfiles\/?p=1598"},"modified":"2012-01-02T10:17:53","modified_gmt":"2012-01-02T16:17:53","slug":"lifelock-is-watching-me","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/lifelock-is-watching-me\/","title":{"rendered":"LifeLock Is Watching Me!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The people at LifeLock are on a serious mission to keep the company&#8217;s critics quiet. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walletpop.com\/2008\/06\/19\/lifelock-called-me-today\/\">They even called me this week<\/a> in an effort to &#8220;educate me&#8221; on the virtues of LifeLock so that I&#8217;d quit criticizing them publicly.<\/p>\n<p>So imagine my surprise today at being notified that I had someone new &#8220;watching&#8221; me on Twitter. (To those who don&#8217;t know about Twitter, think of it as a mini-blog to which people can subscribe to see your updates.)<\/p>\n<p>My new watcher was named Ben Rabicoff, and it only took me a few seconds to find out why: He&#8217;s the &#8220;online marketing manager&#8221; for LifeLock. (See profile information from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sequence-inc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/05\/14\/linkedin-like-a-bad-chain-letter\/\">LinkedIn<\/a> below.)<!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>The more LifeLock tries to keep critics quiet, the more I feel like my criticisms of the company are on point.<\/strong> They&#8217;ve offered no actual information that refutes the claims I&#8217;ve made: that their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sequence-inc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/05\/06\/lifelock-sucks\/\">services aren&#8217;t worth the money<\/a>, that the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.walletpop.com\/2008\/05\/22\/more-on-lifelocks-failure-to-protect-identities-and-its-claim\/\">service isn&#8217;t effective<\/a> at preventing identity theft, and that their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sequence-inc.com\/fraudfiles\/2008\/06\/20\/the-lifelock-%e2%80%9cguarantee%e2%80%9d-talking-out-of-both-sides-of-their-mouth\/\">guarantee is worthless<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All LifeLock has done is say I don&#8217;t know what I&#8217;m talking about. Sounds like a tactic used by MLMs&#8230; just say that the critics are wrong, ignorant, or biased against the company.<\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s my bias: The services aren&#8217;t worth the money and the guarantee is really just a promise that they won&#8217;t help you.
