{"id":1606,"date":"2008-06-22T14:56:47","date_gmt":"2008-06-22T20:56:47","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.sequence-inc.com\/fraudfiles\/?p=1606"},"modified":"2012-01-02T10:02:22","modified_gmt":"2012-01-02T16:02:22","slug":"al-gore-cares-about-conserving-energy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/fraudfiles\/al-gore-cares-about-conserving-energy\/","title":{"rendered":"Al Gore Cares About Conserving Energy"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>&#8230;unless if he&#8217;s supposed to participate effectively.<\/p>\n<p>The Tennessee Center for Policy Research <a href=\"http:\/\/tennesseepolicy.org\/main\/article.php?article_id=764\">reports<\/a>:<!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>In the year since Al Gore took steps to make his home more energy-efficient, the former Vice President\u2019s home energy use surged more than 10%, according to the Tennessee Center for Policy Research.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA man\u2019s commitment to his beliefs is best measured by what he does behind the closed doors of his own home,\u201d said Drew Johnson, President of the Tennessee Center for Policy Research. \u201cAl Gore is a hypocrite and a fraud when it comes to his commitment to the environment, judging by his home energy consumption.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>In the past year, Gore\u2019s home burned through 213,210 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of electricity, enough to power 232 average American households for a month.<\/p>\n<p>In February 2007, An Inconvenient Truth, a film based on a climate change speech developed by Gore, won an Academy Award for best documentary feature. The next day, the Tennessee Center for Policy Research uncovered that Gore\u2019s Nashville home guzzled 20 times more electricity than the average American household.<\/p>\n<p>After the Tennessee Center for Policy Research exposed Gore\u2019s massive home energy use, the former Vice President scurried to make his home more energy-efficient. Despite adding solar panels, installing a geothermal system, replacing existing light bulbs with more efficient models, and overhauling the home\u2019s windows and ductwork, <strong>Gore now consumes more electricity than before the \u201cgreen\u201d overhaul.<\/strong><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>It&#8217;s okay, Al.
