Before you go sprinting off to Judge Judy, you may want to give Tracy Coenen a call. Coenen, a forensic CPA, <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"lazyload alignright\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml,%3Csvg%20xmlns%3D%27http%3A%2F%2Fwww.w3.org%2F2000%2Fsvg%27%20width%3D%27130%27%20height%3D%27153%27%20viewBox%3D%270%200%20130%20153%27%3E%3Crect%20width%3D%27130%27%20height%3D%27153%27%20fill-opacity%3D%220%22%2F%3E%3C%2Fsvg%3E\" data-orig-src=\"http:\/\/www.sequenceinc.com\/images\/tracy\/courtbw.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"130\" height=\"153\" align=\"right\" border=\"0\" \/>works with the insurance and legal industries on investigative accounting and litigation support.<\/p>\n<p>In lay terms, Coenen calculates losses in insurance policies or lawsuits. She also helps attorneys with contract litigation and business problems involving money, whether it be theft, fraud or disputes between employers and employees.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cPeople think what I do is really confusing, but on the contrary, it\u2019s really quite easy to understand,\u201d said Coenen.<\/p>\n<p>With five years accounting and forensic experience behind her, Coenen began her own business about two years ago. \u201cThe experience I\u2019ve gained working in the specialty areas of litigation and fraud have helped me develop special skills,\u201d said Coenen, \u201cskills that most CPAs don\u2019t have.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Coenen\u2019s market is mainly insurance companies and law firms, most of which she recruits through networking \u2013 which is one reason she joined the MMAC.<\/p>\n<p>Coenen has conducted seminars on detecting employee fraud, utilizing financial experts in litigation, and calculating lost profits under business insurance policies.
