The agencies seeking information are the Defense Department, the National Science Foundation and the Department of Health and Human Services.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this year, the Office of Inspector General for Health and Human Services said that Yale inappropriately billed expenses related to a $1.7 million stem cell research grant. The audit raised questions about the amount of time Yale employees devoted to the grant, and found over $193,000 in unallowable costs incurred in connect with the grant, among other things.<\/p>\n<p>The school&#8217;s president, Richard Levin, said that Yale has hired a consulting firm to upgrade their accounting system and practices.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Yale University has been subpoenaed by three federal agencies seeking information about the school&#8217;s use of research grants over the past decade.
