(Someone even claimed it cured Down&#8217;s Syndrome!?!?!?!?)<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The Attorney General&#8217;s office says that it anticipates filing a lawsuit against Mannatech for multiple alleged violations, including possibly violating the state&#8217;s Deceptive Trade Practices Act and other laws meant to protect consumers. The Texas Department of State Health Services has also gotten involved because of the company&#8217;s unproven claims about their products and their ability to heal many illnesses. Making such statements without the approval of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is a violation of state and federal law.<\/p>\n<p>A recent story in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram quotes Mannatech&#8217;s Chairman and CEO, Sam Caster, saying, &#8220;We walk the fine line of always stating our case appropriately and always training our people: We&#8217;re not into the treatment, cure or mitigation of disease. We&#8217;re into the improvement of quality of life. Now, who can benefit from good nutrition? Sick people, well people, everybody.
