Fastow created partnerships to do financial &#8220;deals&#8221; with Enron, but the partnerships did not meet accounting requirements to make them independent of Enron<\/p>\n<p>The defense is expected to say that Lay and Skilling were really victims of Fastow&#8217;s fraud.
