If you are a patient of Dr. Luann Moraski and Thrivemed, S.C. for primary care medicine, you need to know that Luann does not have a license to practice medicine in the State of Wisconsin. Under the last order of the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board, Luann was prohibited from working in the practice in any capacity, medical or non-medical.
Updated 3/04/26 to reflect Luann’s recent felony conviction, current status as an inmate of the Washington County Jail with work release privileges, and complete sentencing details. On 3/11/26, Luann claimed that she has been “a victim of organized cyberbullying.” Making the truth readily accessible to the public is not cyberbullying. Luann is only a victim of her own bad behavior: multiple criminal convictions related to driving while under the influence of alcohol and the alleged unlicensed practice of medicine.

See a list of relevant documents in date order here.

In 2013, a suspension order for her medical license was issued but stayed based on a second OWI offense on 7/23/12. She was convicted of a misdemeanor 2nd OWI and sentenced to 40 days in jail with work release privileges. The suspension was indefinite, and Luann was prohibited from engaging in the practice of medicine or surgery in any capacity. The suspension was stayed, meaning that she was allowed to practice in a limited capacity as long as she was in compliance with certain things. Luann was required to have ongoing drug and alcohol treatment, submit periodic reports to the department, abstain from all use of alcohol or controlled substances, and submit to periodic testing.
In 2018, Luann’s license was fully reinstated based on 5 years of successful compliance with the 2013 suspension order.
Luann was arrested for her third OWI offense on 7/13/20, convicted of misdemeanor 3rd OWI, and sentenced to 120 days in jail with work release privileges. Her Wisconsin medical license was suspended again on 5/18/22 based on her conviction for that offense. However, the suspension was again stayed and Luann was allowed to practice in a limited capacity as long as she was in compliance with certain provisions. She was required to continue alcohol treatment, submit written reports, abstain from all alcohol and controlled substance use, and participate in drug and alcohol screens. The limited capacity required her to practice under the direct supervision of a licensed physician or other health care professional approved by the licensing board. She also needed to practice under a “Professional Mentor” who would monitor her, review charts, and provide reports on her. If she was in compliance with this order, Luann was allowed to petition for reinstatement of her license in 5 years.
On 5/14/24, the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services received a complaint alleging that Luann had a personal relationship with a person to which she also provided medical care and treatment. She denied engaging in unprofessional conduct.
On 10/11/24, the stay of the suspension of Luann’s license was removed (i.e. she became fully suspended and her ability to practice in even a limited capacity was prohibited). The suspension was because “Information has been received that demonstrates Respondent is in violation of the terms of the Order.”
Following this suspension, Luann petitioned the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board to allow her to continue working in her clinic in a non-medical capacity while suspended. The board unanimously decided to deny this request at their 11/20/24 meeting. (See page 10.) The denial became part of an official order on 11/21/24. LuAnn is not allowed to work in her ThriveMed clinic in any capacity, under this order.
The patients of ThriveMed were sent an email on 12/5/24 spinning the situation. It included:
As many of you know, LuAnn has been on a leave of absence for several weeks. This has been due to two factors that are non-negotiable: her health and licensing issues. We anticipate this to continue until at least January 8, 2025. As such, we are scheduling appointments after that date. There are resources in place to answer questions and assist with triage so we don’t overwhelm the system. This current situation has been ongoing for weeks…
On 2/26/25, Luann was charged with her 4th OWI, a felony. (Follow along with the court case here.) From the criminal complaint:
Deputy Amber Thompson reported that on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, at approximately 7:52 pm she responded to the report of a vehicle crash in which a witness observed a vehicle travelling north on Division Road, travel through the stop sign at County Tk NN without stopping and travel into the field on the north side of County Tk NN in the Town of Jackson, Washington County, Wisconsin.
Deputy Brennan Kulibert reported that he arrived at the scene of the above-described crash and located the suspect vehicle approximately fifty yards into a field located on the north side of County Tk NN, in front of Division Road. Deputy Kulibert reported that he observed there to be a sole occupant of the vehicle who was seated in the driver’s seat and was later positively identified as Luann Moraski, the defendant herein. Deputy Kulibert reported that he observed the vehicle to be running with the tires spinning and the engine revving. Deputy Kulibert reported that upon speaking with the defendant he observed her to have very slurred speech and glossy eyes. Deputy Kulibert reported that upon asking the defendant to exit the vehicle the defendant stumbled, and Deputy Kulibert caught her to prevent her from losing her balance. Deputy Kulibert reported that he observed five open yellow New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Tropic Force beer cans in the field just to the rear of the vehicle and further observed, inside the vehicle, behind the passenger seat, a six-pack case of yellow New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Tropic Force beer which contained one unopened can.
Deputy Thompson reported that she arrived at the scene of the crash and detected a strong odor of intoxicants coming from the interior of the suspect vehicle. Deputy Thompson reported that she spoke with the defendant at which time she observed the defendant to have slow and slurred speech and confusion. Deputy Thompson reported that the defendant stated that she was coming from Su Casa Grande where she had consumed one margarita. Deputy Thompson reported that she asked the defendant why her car was in the field and the defendant stated, “I totally ran through the stop sign”.
On 4/4/25, Luann Moraski voluntarily surrendered her Wisconsin medical license.
On 4/24/25, the Information filed in Luann’s criminal case 25CF0109 (Washington County) stated that her blood alcohol concentration at the time of the 2/25/25 accident was 0.276. (Wisconsin’s legal limit is 0.08 for drivers, but with prior convictions for OWI, the allowable limit is reduced to 0.02. As such, Luann was more than 10 times over the legal limit.) Because Luann has 2 or more prior convictions for operating while under the influence, the criminal complaint in the current case was amended to quadruple the maximum fines and indicate that she could be subject to other consequences like mandated treatment and restriction on operation of motor vehicles.
Despite surrendering her medical license, as of 5/1/25, Luann’s business website still showed her as the person providing direct primary care throughout May 2025.
On 6/06/25, the ThriveMed website was changed and Luann is no longer featured on the site. The services offered included primary care, hormone therapy, disease prevention, and executive health services.

The services page lists additional services including lab services, employment workplace services, medications, integrative medicine, ancillary services, and care coordination.

The practice is clearly still operating, but is there a licensed physician working in it? Luann’s attorney reported on 6/13/25 that the practice is allowed to operate with a nurse practitioner so long as there is a “supervising physician.” The attorney indicates that there is a supervising physician. No further details were provided about the identity of this physician, but we know that it cannot be Luann since the Wisconsin Medical Examining Board has prohibited her from working in any capacity at ThriveMed, even non-medical.

However, Luann reported to her patients in May 2025 that she is still actively working at ThriveMed and that patients can schedule appointments with her.
On 7/15/25, Luann filed paperwork in Washington County court that again confirms she is working at ThriveMed:

A plea and sentencing hearing was scheduled for 7/24/25, but did not occur because the offer made by the state was revoked. Instead a hearing was held on 9/24/24, during which it was made known that the state made Luann a new offer that involved prison time. Luann refused the offer, saying she was trying to sell Thrivemed and needed to sell it before she could be incarcerated. A trial date of 1/21/26 was set, with an expected 2 day trial, but it appears from what her attorney said that she may accept the plea deal after she sells the business.
On 10/31/25, Luann sent an email to her patients announcing the closure of ThriveMed. The announcement said in part:
In Wisconsin, a medical practice must be owned by a licensed medical provider. We have pursued many paths to find a way to accomplish this. With that in mind, we have decided to close the practice until there is a new owner, or my situation gets resolved.
Luann has not had a medical license since her surrender of her license on 4/4/25. Does this mean that the practice has been operating illegally since then? Patients have been seen. Prescriptions have been written. Procedures have been performed. This is all questionable.
She further said:
We will continue operations through November 30, 2025, with limited capacity until final closure at the end of December. I have taken every option to try to prevent this, but we must comply with the law.
How can Thrivemed legally operate in November and December if the clinic is owned by Luann, an unlicensed provider?
Remember, Luann’s medical license was fully suspended on 10/11/24 for non-compliance with orders related to her 3rd OWI. Then on 11/21/24, Luann was prohibited from working in any capacity at ThriveMed. And then on 4/4/25, she surrendered her medical license altogether.
But look at how the story changes in communications to patients, going from health and a little licensing snafu, to lyme disease, to lack of a licensed owner of the clinic.

2026 Felony Conviction
On February 20, 2026, Luann pleaded guilty to Felony OWI (4th) and received her sentence. Before receiving her sentence, her attorney went on at length about how she has served the community with her medical practice, even saying that she had low fees that allowed people to get healthcare who might otherwise not be able to afford it. The impression was left that Luann’s practice is for low income people who can’t access healthcare anywhere else. This is false.

Nonetheless, Luann was made out to be a pillar of the community who only drives drunk sometimes, and is otherwise such a good person. And also, no one has proven that she has treated patients while drunk. Unless you’re a patient who has, indeed, been treated while Luann was under the influence.

The attorney stated that Luann is selling Thrivemed, but in order to do so, she needs to be able to work there as the administrator. (Never mind the fact that reports have been made that Luann is treating patients, despite the fact that she has no medical license and is prohibited from treating patients.) The story about selling the practice is questionable.
According to Luann’s attorney, people wanted to come to court to be character witnesses for Luann, but they were afraid to because this article exists and Luann’s friends might be “smeared” here if they came forward.
The sentence:
- 2 years of prison followed by 2 years of extended supervision (formerly known as parole)
- The prison time was stayed (i.e. it doesn’t happen) and she was sentenced to probation
- 3 years of probation including 11 months of jail time at the beginning
- Jail time will be done with work release privileges (known as “Huber” in Wisconsin)
- No drivers license for 3 years, an ignition interlock required if she drives (such as under an occupational license)
So, Luann will be sleeping at the jail, but spending most waking hours “working” at her practice, even if there are no patients. The cool thing for her is that she will make her own schedule since she’s self-employed, and she will “require” that she be away from the jail as much as possible.

Other Relevant Information
When the earlier (lighter) sentence was on the table, Luann justified a light sentence with her participation in therapy and “self-help” groups. What’s most interesting is that her therapist, Heather Hart Kennedy, works at Thrivemed, but this was not disclosed. Instead, Heather used her home address in the letter she provided for the judge in Luann’s criminal case. In the letter, she stated that Luann does weekly psychotherapy sessions “in my office.”

Also not disclosed… the personal relationship between Luann and Heather, as seen in these social media posts with Heather at Luann’s house.

Curious how quickly some rush to post a public takedown. Have you ever sat across from Dr. Moraski in a moment of real need? For those of us who have, the story is different. She didn’t just treat symptoms — she listened, guided, and helped our family in ways no one else had. If we’re going to talk facts, let’s include the ones that can’t be pulled from a disciplinary or CCAP report: the lives changed, the trust earned, and the healing she facilitated when others failed. That deserves mention, too.
Otherwise, all you’re doing is kicking someone while they’re down—while pretending it’s in the public’s best interest. It’s hard to tell what’s more troubling: the situation itself, or how much satisfaction you seem to get from spotlighting it.
Hello Laura – Where do you see “satisfaction” in this simple recitation of the facts?
Im a patient and I think Luann is great. However, I had a hunch that a few things were not right.
In any case, I only wish her and her team the best.
Jeff
You are a vile human being.
Why do the facts upset you?
The consequences of addiction are vile. While I have the utmost empathy for anyone afflicted with this insidious disease, I draw the line when it comes to endangering others, especially patients. Physicians are held to a higher standard and take an oath to “do no harm.” I personally witnessed the harm Dr. Moraski caused a loved one under her care, and I am outraged by the dishonesty that she continues to display.
Public records from the WI Medical Examining Board and the WI Court System show that Dr. Moraski has had several violations over many years, all of which have jeopardized the safety of both patients and the general public — not to mention Dr. Moraski’s own safety and well-being. These violations include treating a pediatric patient while intoxicated (December 2012) and four OWIs, all within the past 15 years (from December 22, 2010, through February 25, 2025).
The WI Court System and WI Medical Examining Board have granted Dr. Moraski numerous second, third, and fourth chances over the years; yet, she has continued to behave in a way that threatens the safety of others. How would you feel if a loved one of yours died under her care or as a result of her drunk driving?
To aggravate matters, Dr. Moraski has been grossly dishonest with patients about her limitations and, more recently, her inability to practice medicine by order of the WI Medical Examining Board. She continues to be dishonest with the Court System (as outlined above) in an attempt to lessen the consequences of her actions. I imagine Dr. Moraski is dishonest with herself, which is perhaps the painful root cause of many of the problems she now faces.
I sincerely pray for any person who struggles with the disease of addiction, that they may develop the “rigorous honesty” necessary to recover and – hopefully – help heal some of the harm they have caused others.
I have so many questions right now. And some things make more sense- I smelled alcohol on her maybe a year ago (during my doctor visit with her) and she didn’t seem like herself.
There are other employees at the practice besides the Nurse Practitioner. So perhaps one of them is supervising? I know the NP can prescribe medication and order labs/other testing. But the monthly subscription is the same (Because they do not accept insurance, it’s somewhat like a membership). For several months I thought I was paying for this new integrative approach, led by a highly respected physician. I had no idea that her license was suspended.
Alcoholism is a disease, and it seems like the system allowed her to keep practicing, and was more lenient than they should have been. Especially given the huge responsibility that a doctor has. There is no doubt that she was practicing when she shouldn’t have been. People were put at risk, myself included.
Also, it is completely legal to have a home office, and many therapists these days work out of their home office, and physical business address. This could be the case with this therapist. It’s more of an ethics thing for me- can she be objective enough as a therapist, to her personal friend, who is also the business owner where she works?
I’m very perplexed with this one. I have compassion and empathy for this doctor. Without this horrible disease, she is incredibly smart, knowledgeable, and easy to talk to. But I also believe articles such as these need to be written and shared, if there is a level of dishonesty.
I didn’t know most of this information. And the email we received didn’t mean anything to me, because I was not a patient for years and years. So, I had no idea of the health issues etc. that they were speaking of. And when I asked, they made it sound like there was a glitch in her license, that she could still practice, and it would be resolved shortly. I would have appreciated more transparency so I would have had the choice to decide what was best for my healthcare, and my ongoing medical issues.
I’m not a fan of cutting people down, or using words and information in a spiteful way. Which seemed to me like the tone or goal of this article. Rather than to spread awareness, and advocate for those who may be at risk. I am sure there are many patients who are in the dark.
Why do you feel like providing the facts is “cutting people down”? This article simply provides the facts, and you admit there is a lot of concerning information.
I will tell you that Luann is NOT an extremely knowledgeable doctor. She masquerades as one, and if you’re a lay person, she sounds impressive. But ask other doctors who have worked with her. She is dangerous… Prescribing medication that she has no business prescribing. Making diagnoses that she’s not qualified to make. Recommending treatment plans that are just plain wrong.
You admit that you got an email from her regarding her license that was dishonest. What more do you need to understand that this woman is an opportunist who can’t be trusted?
Dear Community Member,
I sincerely appreciate your sharing your experience and perspective. Thank you.
I am a family member of a former patient of Luann’s, and I can personally attest not only to the way in which she endangered our loved one’s health and safety, but also to her gross dishonesty and arrogance about her ability to practice medicine safely.
Simply put, Luann has behaved recklessly and selfishly. She has broken the trust of patients, many of whom are in recovery themselves and believed (because of Luann’s misrepresentations) that she was somehow different and “better” than other physicians, because she was “one of them” with an exceptional understanding of their own disease and challenges.
While I appreciate your take on the author’s tone in this article, I strongly disagree that “cutting people down” is her goal. Luann’s behavior has understandably outraged patients and their loved ones, myself included. You yourself acknowledge that “people were put at risk, myself included.”
Luann’s “licensing issues” were most certainly not a “glitch.” You — and every other patient — deserve complete transparency to make informed decisions about your healthcare, much less to know if your primary care provider holds a valid license to practice medicine.
Luann and the staff at ThriveMed, SC, have not been transparent. They have misled and deceived patients. Behavior like this is precisely why people like the author make the courageous decision to blow the whistle. Yes, they often feel angry and betrayed, but that does not mean their motive is to cut others down. More often than not, whistleblowers have been harmed personally and/or have witnessed the “system’s” failure to protect the people it intends to protect — in this case, the WI Medical Examining Board and the courts, both of which have been unable, over many years and disciplinary actions, to stop Luann from endangering the health and safety of others.
I am grateful to the author and anyone else who shares their experience with this provider and practice, because doing so may spare another patient and family the harm.
Thrivemed closing end of Nov 2025
When mental health therapists and students, former family court and other officers (who are friends, patients or family members) condoned this physician of injecting other vulnerable patients in her home with ketamine, more was at play than addiction, Lyme etc.
This is beyond troubling to read. I urge you to file a complaint ASAP with the WI Department of Safety and Professional Services. You can do so here: https://dsps.wi.gov/Pages/SelfService/FileAComplaint.aspx
To be clear, Luann Moraski lost her license to practice medicine on October 11, 2024. If anyone reading this was treated by Luann, or paid any fees to Luann from October 11, 2024 onward, please know that Luann was practicing medicine illegally, and that should be reported to the WI Department of
Safety and Professional Services (DSPS). You can file a complaint here: https://dsps.wi.gov/Pages/SelfService/FileAComplaint.aspx
Luann pleaded guilty to her 4th OWI on 02/20/26 and was sentenced. CCAP does not list the penalty. Any update?
Article has been updated with the sentencing info.
Facts matter. Court records matter. Accountability matters.
But facts do not exist in a vacuum. The way they are arranged, emphasized, and framed creates a narrative. This post does more than report a sentencing outcome. It constructs an arc.
By reiterating past infractions, emphasizing escalation, and framing updates as confirmation of a larger pattern, the story that emerges is not simply “this occurred.” It becomes “this person cannot be trusted and should have been stopped sooner.” That is a moral narrative, not just a factual summary.
The language throughout reinforces that framing. Phrases such as “never mind the fact that,” “the impression was left,” and “the cool thing for her is” introduce sarcasm and skepticism rather than neutrality. Standard sentencing mechanisms like probation and work release are presented as though they are personal advantages or evidence of manipulation, rather than common legal structures. References to unproven allegations are included in a way that plants suspicion without citing formal findings. Even the defense attorney’s remarks about community service and character witnesses are dismissed outright, with the implication that any support is either false or tainted.
The cumulative effect is not simply documentation. It is sustained spotlighting. A legal sentence is meant to define the consequence imposed by the court. When commentary continues in a tone that amplifies distrust, questions motives, and implies ongoing wrongdoing beyond what has been adjudicated, it begins to resemble reputational punishment layered on top of the legal one.
Facts are facts. No one disputes that. But tone, repetition, and framing carry weight. And this presentation feels less like neutral accountability and more like a charged narrative designed to guide readers toward condemnation rather than allowing them to interpret the record for themselves.
Ericha – LUANN IS NOT TO BE TRUSTED. She is a dangerous person who should never practice medicine again. Luann created her own narrative and I reported it. Why do you think that making this information readily accessible to people is “reputational punishment”? Because you’re Luann’s friend and you’ve bought her lies. But the truth will continue to be seen far and wide thanks to this article. Yes, everyone SHOULD condemn her. No, everyone will not. People like you will buy into Luann’s bullshit and will help her take advantage of more people and provide unsafe medical care without a medical license. And yet, this article will remain. (Also, AI wrote your comment. You couldn’t be bothered to have original thoughts of your own.)
For anyone who wishes to be informed about the actions of the human being known as Luann Moraski (who is practicing as a doctor and taking money from patients who think she is actually a doctor) please read this article and know it is all facts – all day.
IF you are looking into getting a doctor – be aware she is human, makes mistakes, and somehow continues to make mistakes that have led to even more legal consequences including the closing of her clinic.
This website does nothing to shame a person – rather it presents facts so people can make an informative and educated decision for their health care needs. The facts make Luann look bad, not the author. Luann’s choices make her look bad, not this website.
How would you feel if you found this out about your doctor? How would you feel if all of a sudden you were without a provider, without a clinic to go to, and your medical records could not be obtained?
This is healthcare – not a zoo or a circus. People are not puppets to play with and amuse your ego with.
Who Luann is and what Luann does on her personal time is her business – when she is not practicing medicine.
What is a doctor?
“A doctor occupies a multifaceted position that extends far beyond the clinical treatment of individual illnesses. They serve as health advocates, educators, and leaders who are responsible for both individual patient care and the broader public health of the population. Historically viewed as figures of high status or intellectual authority, modern physicians are increasingly expected to function as approachable team members within integrated community care”
In the world we live in today – you need to be informed. You cannot necessarily trust with your eyes and ears.
I applaud the author of this website for looking out for the community by posting factual information. I think it is shameful that people have commented on this website with personal opinions and ulterior motives.
Grow up. Understand the public has a right to this information. And move it along with all the chatter on how the author is doing something wrong. She is informing the public – I think a “thank you” is in order.
To the author of this website (on behalf of every human being) thank you for your continued efforts to protect the interest of the public and make information such as this known. You are truly appreciated and valued.
